I am a woman focused photographer and empowerment artist. What I love most about what I do is how I make my clients feel: seen, celebrated and empowered in their authenticity at every stage of life.
I see you, you are beautiful just the way you are.
It’s 3am, and I’ve been up for an hour with my twins. Now 3 months old they are beginning to sleep in longer stretches, allowing their father and I to be able to return to the land of the living and better navigate our waking hours without the dreaded newborn Fog that has plagued us with each new addition in our family.
It’s hard to imagine that it was only 3 months ago that we held Jack and Austin in our arms for the first time, cried when they had to spend time in the NICU and then cried tears of joy when they were both healthy enough to come home with us and meet their 3 older siblings and all of us were finally together again.
I am going to take time tonight, in this tired fog, to hold each baby, look at their little fingers and tiny features and take it all in. I am old enough and wise enough to realize how fleeting childhood is and how before I know it these little babies will be grown.
As a 40 year old mother of 5, I know that I won’t have any more children. It feels so final to say that and I only want to slow down time; take in every moment, even when they are sometimes hard and find happiness in every stage of my life and I wish the same for you mama.
I have promised myself, the gift of family photos every year, to document this sweet authentic life and my family as my kids grow and my husband and I enter midlife (how did that happen??). I have included family photos I had taken when I was pregnant with the twins and I look forward to documenting our ever changing family this summer too! It is so important that we stop, capture and cherish every stage of life that we are in, and celebrate how far we have come and look ahead to all of the great unknowns that life has for us.
If you feel called to capture your family this summer, please reach out and let’s see if we are a good fit. With Mother’s Day approaching we have a reason to gift ourselves and our families time together and to document it on film. One thing that I love about photography is that each photo I have of a loved one increases in value as time goes by.
Happy Mother’s Day to all of you moms out there. You have one of the most important jobs in the world and your family loves you so much.
