I am a woman focused photographer and empowerment artist. What I love most about what I do is how I make my clients feel: seen, celebrated and empowered in their authenticity at every stage of life.
I see you, you are beautiful just the way you are.
Oh my goodness, senior year is filled with so many things to celebrate and one one way to celebrate your senior is with a senior session that she won’t soon forget. Read on for tips about how to plan the best senior photos.
Careful planning. This is one of the most important things to do, you must plan to have get the best outcome. Some things to consider when planning are wardrobe, locations and the overall vibe of the shoot. The most important important is making
sure that you look inward and plan a session that shows you in your authenticity and celebrates your individuality. These photos should reflect you being unapologetically YOU.
A few words on wardrobe. I suggest 3-7 outfits per shoot. This is one way to make sure that you have a versatile gallery at the end of your session. Outfits should reflect your personal style. I suggest wearing outfits that are solid and form fitting, as busy patterns take away from the subject and loose fitting clothing makes you look larger than you actually are.
Location does matter. Do you want a country, dirt road, backwoods kind of vibe or an urban shoot in locations like downtown Burlington. Outfits and locations should also vibe together. For example, you may consider wearing a beautiful sundress in a field, and opt for the romantic dress in a dramatic location near water or falls. Ripped jeans and a graphic tee would be best suited for a downtown location.
Hair and Makeup Artistry. I highly suggest treating yourself to hair and makeup artistry before your session. Regardless of your feelings about makeup, this leaves you looking and feeling your best before the session and the elevates the photos to a new level of polished. Makeup can be simple and natural or heavier for a dramatic look.
Here at Amanda Starr Photography I take care of all of these details and work closely with my clients to make sure they have the best experience with the best images that are not only beautiful, but capture my subjects being celebrated and standing in their authenticity.
