I am a woman focused photographer and empowerment artist. What I love most about what I do is how I make my clients feel: seen, celebrated and empowered in their authenticity at every stage of life.
I see you, you are beautiful just the way you are.
Hello Lovely Ladies,
Today I want to talk about a common misconception in boudoir photography.
Yes, boudoir photography is…
celebratory
empowerment focused
an amazing way to reconnect with oneself and practice self
.
My sessions really do feel like self care, comfortable, relaxed, fun and a way for you to be truly seen and celebrated in your authenticity.

However, one thing that women may not consider before participating in a boudoir session is that boudoir photography is a genre that comes with great responsibility for both her and for her photographer.
Women need to be photographed by a skilled professional that truly understands all of the EMOTIONS, doubt, insecurities, love and joy and past trauma that can come up for women as they celebrate or reconnect with this particular side of themselves. Women also need to take time to prepare for a session and know that although the experience is a part of their journey, like any extraordinary experience, many feelings and emotions can come up in the process
The women that come to me are often on a journey and I play a small part in it. They may be celebrating weight loss, reconnecting with their sensuality after not feeling sexy for a long time, perhaps they want to let their hair down and gift these images to a beloved partner, or just deeply care for themselves for the first time in a long time…whatever the reason, on this journey of self discovery emotions can run high.

Oftentimes when clients see their images for the first time, they cry because they feel so seen and beautiful, they cry tears of joy for investing in themselves in this way when the norm for them has been to always put others first. Clients can also feel triggered when seeing themselves through someone else’s lens other than their own for the first time, or have a mix of many different kinds of emotions, as we are complex in our humanness.
So ladies, when you prepare to invest in yourself on your own journey with boudoir photography, find a photographer that understands this side of the job and someone that will take care of you and hold space for you to explore this side of yourself.
So much Love ,
Amanda
